Time to Change My Life...

I'm not one for making New Year's resolutions. That way I never have to worry about breaking them. But this year I decided it's time to take better care of myself.

Over the years I've packed on a lot of extra weight and it's getting difficult to carry it all around. When I was younger I was very active, bowling, hunting and fishing every chance I got. Plus I always worked at physically demanding jobs. I quit bowling about 20 years ago. Hunting has been very poor on Vancouver Island for almost as long and I don't get out trout fishing at all any more. And if you've ever watched Deadliest Catch you know how much exercise fishing captains get. Needless to say the inactive lifestyle has hurt me immensely.

Every once in a while I try walking for exercise but I get such terrible shin splints that it's just too painful to continue and after about a month, I give up. I keep saying to myself, that I have to get back in shape this year or it's going to be too late and I'm going to wind up in some serious trouble.

Well this year I made a couple of changes that I hope will help. I started reading quite a bit about health and our bodies and one of the things I learned was how important water and proper hydration is to our health and physical fitness.

I also learned that the water we drink from almost every source is pretty harmful to our bodies. In municipal supplies so many chemicals are added to make it "safe to drink" that it's not really healthy at all. Bottled water and sports drinks are so acidic and devoid of minerals that they also harm our bodies. Runoff contaminates our wells and airborne chemicals fall into our lakes, streams and rivers making many of them hazardous to our health.

The Kangen Water Machine by Enagic

A friend of mine introduced us to a water generating machine that uses electricity to remove contaminants from drinking water without removing any of the essential minerals. Enagic Leveluk SD 501
It moves the water through electrically charged platinum and titanium plates which restructures the waters molecules making them smaller. These smaller water molecules are easier for the body to absorb and so hydrates you much more than regular tap water.

This process also increases the alkalinity of the drinking water which in turn helps raise the pH of our bodies cells. It has been proven that disease flourishes in an acidic body and can't progress in healthy alkaline bodies. Obesity is one of the main symptoms of an acidic body. The water that this machine makes is called Kangen Water which means "Return to Origin".

The technology used in this machine was developed in Japan and it is a certified medical device used in many of Japan's top hospitals. Japan is renown for the health of their people and studies have shown them to be the most physically fit of all the earth's peoples. Drinking Water and Weight Loss

So drinking this water should help me lose weight. In fact I started drinking the water January 1. Until I got my own machine, I was driving 2 hours to my friend's place every two days to get a fresh supply. The water only holds it's charge for about 2 or 3 days so that was quite a chore. I was very happy to get our own machine just 3 days ago.

After two weeks this is what I've noticed so far. The first week I dropped 10 pounds. As my body started to detoxify, I noticed a few days of almost flu like symptoms. I've been trying to drink 2 gallons of water per day but so far I can only get just over a gallon into me. The heavier you are the more water you need to drink to lose weight.

Because I've been drinking more water I notice that I'm not as hungry and so have been eating less. One of the things I've learned is that we sometimes mistake the signals our bodies are sending to us and we quite often think we're hungry when we're really thirsty.

Just think about it, our bodies are 70% water. Very few of us drink as much water as we should. This keeps us in a constant state of dehydration which in turn creates a more acidic body which leads to disease or weight gain. And because what we believe are hunger pangs aren't satisfied, we keep eating. It's a vicious circle that is difficult to stop.

The Dog Doesn't Stink Any More

Another thing I've noticed and this is a little weird is that my skin feels almost velvety and is much softer than before. Rufus the dog who is now 12 has been drinking the water just as long as I have and seems to be enjoying it as well. We've been filling his water bowl much more often. I notice he has more energy and his skin and coat are also softer. He's always had problems with his skin and ears. Those problems seem to be clearing up too.

About a week ago, Cheryl and I both noticed that he doesn't stink like he used to. Before, if he came and lay down at our feet we would really know that he was there and quite often had to send him away because he smelled so bad. It didn't matter how often he was bathed, he stunk soon after. Now he has a fairly pleasant smell for a dog. That alone is worth quite a lot to us and him and it's fun playing with him again.

Another thing I've noticed is that I'm not nearly as tired as I was last month. I was just dragging myself around and I couldn't seem to get enough sleep or rest. Now I'm not sleeping as much, I don't feel tired and am only needing about 4 or 5 hours sleep a night.

I'm going to use this blog to document what I'm experiencing drinking Kangen water and will be adding pages to this site about drinking water and weight loss.

Our New Exercise Routine

I almost forgot. Although it's very important to drink adequate quantities of water, exercise is also very important for weight loss. As I said earlier, that has been a struggle for me lately.

So Santa brought us a new Nintendo Wii Fit. It has a built in fitness trainer and has many different training features and games that get you physically moving. We have all been enjoying bowling, golf, playing tennis, boxing and using the training routines. With the rainy weather we've been experiencing the Wii is helping us stay more active.

So in between updating my websites, I'll be getting my exercise every couple of hours playing on the Wii. Who would of thunk?

Try the Water Yourself

I'm so happy with this water that I want everyone to be able to try Kangen water as well. If you are in the Nanaimo to Chemainus area and would like a demonstration or would like to try Kangen water, please visit www.sparklingcleanwater.com. Read the material, watch the videos, download the free health and wellness e-book, and sign up for the newsletter.

If you like what you see, send me a note using the contact form asking to try the water. I'll call you and make arrangements to get the water to you. As long as you commit to drinking the water as suggested I'll give you the water for a month so you can experience what others have.

ONE FOR THE WILD SALMON! BC Supreme Court delivers ruling in fish farming case !

*Feb 9th, 2009 4:27 PM*

Media Release
Attn: Wildlife/Environment/Legal/Political/News Reporters and Editors

ONE FOR THE WILD SALMON!
*
Vancouver, B.C., February 9, 2009 - Today BC Supreme Court ruled that
the BC government does not have the right to regulate salmon farms - the
BC regulation of fish farms has become unlawful, unconstitutional and
invalid. The fish inside the farm are now considered a fishery, not
agriculture and thus the federal government has exclusive right to
regulation. The court suspended the ruling for a period of 12 months to
allow the federal government to bring in proper legislation.

On September 29 - October 3, 2008, the case Alexandra Morton et al vs
the A.G. of British Columbia and Marine Harvest Canada, Vancouver
Registry, No. S083198 was argued in BC Supreme Court before Mr. Justice
Hinkson. Filed under the Judicial Review Procedure Act, RSBC, c. 241 the
Petitioners sought a declaration that the statutory provisions of
British Columbia's Aquaculture Regulatory Regime - sections 13(5) and
26(2)(a) of the Fisheries Act (B.C.) - be declared unconstitutional and
of no force or effect by virtue of section 52 of the Constitution, which
states that the regulation of Canada's fisheries is under the sole
jurisdiction of the Federal Crown and cannot be delegated to the provinces.

When salmon farming arrived on this coast very little was know about it,
today know much, much more. Just last week the provincially funded
Pacific Salmon Forum called for restructioning of the fish farm
regulatory regime now we have the opportunity to do something that makes
sense.

The response from Alexandra Morton, lead petitioner in the case, is one
of relief and joy. "Finally, the government agency in charge of fish
farms is mandated to put wild salmon first. This has come none too soon
as provincial management of fish farms is devastating many coastal
communities."

"Because the province is not responsible for the oceans, the impact of
fish farms on the oceans became nobody's business and this is how we got
into this mess," explains Morton.

"The B.C. salmon farming industry is largely foreign and facing severe
global economic and disease problems," says Morton. "What makes
countries wealthy is their resources and wild salmon are an extremely
valuable fishery to the benefit of the BC economy."

"I would like to thank my lawyer, Greg McDade, the hundreds of people
who supported this via www.adopt-a-fry.org", says Morton, "West Coast
Environmental Law and many others for their help. There is an enormous
amount of work ahead, but this court has illuminated a path though the
chaos. The war in the water should be over. Our wild salmon are down but
they are not out!"

Albacore Tuna Fishing Job Opportunity

Another fishing season is fast approaching and I can't seem to stay home. I know I said I was retiring from fishing a few years ago, but once the fishing bug gets in your blood, there's no getting it out. The only thing you can do is resign yourself to the fact that once a fisherman, always a fisherman.

Last season was fairly successful and I'm getting very excited about this upcoming albacore tuna season. The boat I've been running for the past 2 years has finally got all the little problems sorted out and last year was relatively problem free. This year we'll get Malcolm Russel to give it a real good going over and it should be the best year yet.

But I do need new crew and so I've set up a page on my website to accept applications for this tuna fishing job. If you or anyone you know would be interested in a deckhand job and coming fishing with me for the 2009 season please fill out the application form on the page at the above link.

Only those with experience and without criminal records will be considered.

Apply for tuna fishing jobs here.

The Beginning Of a New Web Business

Valentine's Day is past and that was the deadline for entries in the newest contest for Site Build It! owners. I think I was the 398th entry and there is a total of 661 entrants.

The idea behind the contest is to develop a new way of doing Multi Level Marketing or MLM. The old way of doing MLM is proven not to work. There are just far too many documented cases of the failure of the old methods of marketing to friends and family. The stories of the 661 contest entrants are proof enough for even the most stubborn old-time MLMer's to dispute.

The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing
Ken Evoy who is indisputably the greatest Internet marketer of all time has teamed up with Ann Sieg, a leader in the MLM industry, to lead and coach this group of people towards developing a new way of doing MLM online. No longer will we have to chase after every person whose name we can remember, in a quest to bring them into a business they have absolutely no interest in.

The new method will bring a steady stream of people who share the same interests and goals as we do. The new method of course involves a website with a primary goal of attracting those people. Once on the website, the information we share will lead these people into joining our business opportunities or trying our products.

Those who don't share our interests won't ever find our sites and if they do, and they're not our target market, the website can face the rejection for us. We only have to deal with the people who show an interest in our business opportunity or products.

To be eligible for the contest I have to start a new website. I can't mention the name of the company on the website and I can't use any of my other websites to promote it. That's so those of us who have been marketing on the Internet for awhile won't have an unfair advantage over the newer SBIer's.

There is a total of $20,000.00 in prizes for the websites that earn the most money in the last 3 months of their first year in business. All of the websites had to be registered between August 2007 and February 14, 2008. We already have a name for this new method, it's called InterNetwork Marketing. We just don't have the details of the method yet.

I'm sure this next year is going to be a very exciting one for SBI! owners and is something that I'm really looking forward to. The contest was the main reason for me transferring this site over to SBI! and taking the next step in my business plan of coaching a team in using SBI! to build their own businesses.

The next step is coming up with the niche I'm going to build this site around. The product I'm going to use is a nutritional fruit juice drink. The most important thing about promoting any product, whether through MLM or an affiliate program is to use the product yourself and ensure that it's a great product. Too many MLM companies promote the business opportunity and the product is secondary.

I think it's extremely important to have a product you feel passionate about and is providing you some benefit that you can share with others. You can read about this product and how I present it on another SBI! site I have that isn't in the contest.

I haven't decided whether I want to do a site that promotes the product or a site devoted to this new method of doing MLM online. Because the method includes Internet marketing, I'm inclined to go that route as I have far more experience in helping people set up marketing sites than I do in health related topics.

Oh well, the tools that SBI! provides will clear this up for me in a few more days. I'll let you know, although I won't be able to tell you the name of the website. Maybe over time you'll be able to figure it out from the clues I leave.

Google, Site Build It! and Infin It! Oh My!

Site Build It!Well, it's taken me several days to get the new blog figured out for this site and another SBI! site that I have. The blogs are a result of Infin It!, a new module from Site Build It! that allows us to host a blog on a sub-domain of our site.

The blog is actually hosted offsite using another domain I own and is created using Google's Blogger. But Infin It! shows the blog as being a sub-domain of kenbryski.com.

Blogger allows us to modify their templates to create the same look and feel of our SBI! site. Because I have a webmaster's account with a web hosting company I was easily able to set up a new subdomain to host the blog. And it only costs a buck a month.

The problem for me came with editing the templates and setting the correct paths for the blog to be uploaded by FTP and setting the domain mapping in my webmasters account.

It was a bit of trial and error but they both seem to be working fine now. The biggest goof came when I was making a small adjustment to the page footer in the Blogger template and highlighted everything above the part I was pasting into. It deleted everything above the footer.

I never saved the template changes I had originally made, so I had to start all over again. But I am getting better each time I do it.
